The mineral blue-grey of the Stagg EKG Pro meets dense, dark walnut on the handle and lid knob. These two materials don't age in the same way: 304 stainless steel retains its color year after year, while the wood slowly develops a patina from contact with the hand. The kettle settles onto the countertop like an object meant to stay there.

Control is managed via a color screen that centralizes everything. You set a target temperature to the nearest degree, between 40 and 100 °C, and the water holds it. If you prefer not to decide, Guide mode offers temperature benchmarks based on extraction method or tea type, a starting point to adjust later according to your coffee.

The integrated timer starts with the infusion: no need for a separate timer, the contact time is displayed in the same place as the temperature. The keep-warm function can be set for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on whether you're preparing one cup or multiple servings. A scheduled programming option also allows you to set the exact time the water should be ready.

The elongated spout, however, isn't adjustable: it's something you learn to use. Its narrow profile stabilizes the flow and puts you in charge of the trajectory, height, and rhythm of the pour. It's the most difficult parameter to master, and the one that changes the cup the most.
