La Maison du Barista ships its specialty coffees, machines and accessories to France, Europe, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Andorra and the United States.

1. Destinations, shipping costs and delivery times

Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout, based on your destination country and your order total. All prices are shown in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes.

Destination Shipping cost Free shipping from Estimated transit time
France, Monaco €6.90 €60 order value 1 to 2 business days (3 business days for Corsica)
Europe – Zone 1

United Kingdom €12.90 €120 order value 2 to 4 business days
Switzerland, Norway, Andorra €12.90 — 2 to 4 business days
United States €29 — 2 to 4 business days

The free shipping threshold is assessed on the total value of the products in your cart, excluding shipping costs. Shipping becomes free as soon as that threshold is reached: €60.00 for France and Monaco, €120.00 for Europe and the United Kingdom.

The times shown are transit times in business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays), counted from the moment your parcel is shipped. They are in addition to the order preparation time set out below.

We do not deliver outside the destinations listed in this table. If your country does not appear here, no shipping method will be offered to you at checkout - write to us at contact@lamaisondubarista.com and we will consider your request on a case-by-case basis.

2. Coffee machines and large equipment

Shipping on coffee machines is free to all of our destinations, with no minimum order value, including to Switzerland, Norway and Andorra.

For the United States, shipping a machine is charged at €70, with an estimated transit time of 3 to 6 business days.

When an order contains both a machine and other products (coffee, accessories), the shipping costs for each category are added together and the total amount is shown at checkout.

3. Order preparation

  • time between payment confirmation and handover of the parcel to the carrier: within 24 to 48 business hours;
  • order cut-off time for same-day dispatch: noon (12 p.m.);
  • days on which we do not ship parcels: weekends and our annual closure

Our coffees are roasted and then packed before shipping.

4. In-store pickup (Click & Collect)

In-store pickup is free and available for all orders; select it at checkout.

La Maison du Barista 17 rue Beaurepaire, 75010 Paris

Opening hours: Wednesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Your order is usually ready within 24 hours. You will receive a confirmation email as soon as it is available: please wait for that message before coming to the store. Bring your order confirmation and a form of ID.

Your order is held in store for 14 days, after which it is cancelled and refunded.

5. Carrier and order tracking

Your orders are entrusted to UPS. A tracking number is sent to you by email as soon as the parcel is handed over to the carrier, so that you can follow its progress.

If you have not received that message, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

6. Customs duties and taxes (destinations outside the European Union)

Our shipments to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Andorra and the United States are made on a DDU basis (Delivered Duty Unpaid, also referred to as DAP): the shipping costs displayed cover transport only, and not customs duties, import VAT or the handling fees applied on entry into the destination country.

These amounts are payable by the recipient. They are collected directly by the carrier or by the local customs authorities, in addition to the price of your order, most often at the time of delivery. Their amount depends on the regulations in force in the destination country and is entirely outside our control.

What to expect by destination

The information below is provided for guidance only and is subject to the rules applicable on the day of importation. It does not constitute a commitment on our part.

  • Switzerland - import VAT of 2.6% on food products, including coffee, and 8.1% on other products. Tax amounts below CHF 5 are not collected: as a general rule, a coffee order of around CHF 190 or less is therefore not taxed. Customs duties are calculated on gross weight and remain modest.
  • Norway - food products, coffee included, are excluded from the simplified VOEC scheme. Every parcel goes through standard customs clearance, whatever its value, with the carrier's handling fees.
  • Andorra - industrial products (machines, grinders, accessories) circulate free of customs duties under the EU-Andorra customs union. Coffee, as an agricultural product, is excluded from it. Customs formalities remain due in all cases, and IGI, the Andorran consumption tax, applies on import.
  • United Kingdom - import VAT and any applicable duties collected on entry, depending on the value of the parcel and UK regulations.
  • United States - since the suspension of the de minimis exemption, low-value parcels no longer benefit from duty-free entry: duties and taxes may apply to any order, whatever its value.

Refusing the parcel

Refusing to pay these amounts results in the parcel being returned to France. The direct costs arising from that return - return transport, storage and handling fees charged by the carrier - remain payable by you and may be deducted from any refund owed to you. A new shipment, if you request one, gives rise to new shipping charges.

If the return of the parcel constitutes the exercise of your right of withdrawal, the refund is made under the conditions set out in our Return and Refund Policy, less the return costs mentioned above.

7. Receiving your parcel

Damaged parcel or damaged product

We encourage you to check the condition of your parcel in the presence of the delivery driver. If the packaging is damaged, a product is broken or an item is missing, write specific, detailed reservations on the delivery note — a general statement such as "subject to unpacking" has no effect.

Report the problem to us within 48 hours of receipt, at contact@lamaisondubarista.com, attaching photographs:

  • of the parcel as received, if possible before it is fully opened;
  • of the shipping label;
  • of the internal packaging;
  • of the product or products concerned.

These items are essential for us to pursue a claim against the carrier. This 48-hour window allows us to act quickly; it does not in any way deprive you of the rights you hold under the law, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.

The same time limit applies if a product is missing from an otherwise intact parcel.

Parcel marked as delivered but not received

If your tracking shows a delivery that you have not seen, a few simple checks resolve most cases: a delivery attempt notice, the parcel left with a neighbour, at reception or with the building caretaker, or made available at a pickup point.

If the parcel is still nowhere to be found 48 hours after the "delivered" status, contact us. We will then open an investigation with the carrier and keep you informed of its progress.

Outcome of the claim

Once the investigation is closed, or as soon as the loss of the parcel is confirmed, the choice is yours:

  • reshipment of an identical order, at no extra cost, subject to product availability;
  • or a full refund of your order, including shipping costs paid, to the payment method used for the purchase. The refund is made within a maximum of fourteen days from our agreement.

If the original product is no longer available, we will offer you an equivalent product or a refund, as you prefer.

8. Late delivery

In accordance with Article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), where no delivery date has been indicated or agreed, we deliver the goods without undue delay and no later than thirty days after the contract is concluded.

In accordance with Article L216-2 of the same code, if we fail to meet that obligation, you may instruct us in writing to carry out the delivery within a reasonable additional period and then, if we still fail to do so, terminate the contract by registered letter with return receipt or in writing on another durable medium. The order is then refunded within fourteen days of the termination of the contract.

The transit times given in section 1 are estimated times provided by our carrier. An occasional overrun of these estimated times cannot give rise to compensation, without prejudice to the rights you hold under the articles cited above.

9. Delivery address

The delivery address is the one you enter when placing your order. Please check that it is correct before confirming your payment: an incomplete or incorrect address can lead to a delay, the return of the parcel, or reshipping costs payable by you.

If you notice a mistake, contact us immediately at contact@lamaisondubarista.com. We will do our best to correct the address if the order has not yet been handed over to the carrier.
