Single boiler: espresso is prepared, then switched to steam mode to texture the milk.

First Start-up

1. Fill the tank (install the resin water softener filter if you use one).
2. Turn on the machine: the PID displays the temperature as it rises. Allow about 3 minutes for a first espresso, and about fifteen minutes for the group and brass portafilter to reach their optimal temperature.
3. Run a little water through the group to fill and rinse the circuit before the first extraction.

Preparing an Espresso

1. Insert the chosen filter into the portafilter and dose the coffee (guidelines: 7-9 g for the single shot filter, 14-18 g for the double shot filter; or an ESE pod).
2. Tamp, clean the rim of the filter, then lock the portafilter onto the group.
3. Place the cup(s), activate the lever to start the extraction; the manometer needle should be in the green zone. Return the lever to stop.

Steam and Hot Water

• Single boiler: after the espresso, switch to steam mode, allowing the boiler to heat up.
• Purge the nozzle for about 2 seconds to release condensation, froth the milk, then close it.
• Before making another espresso, let the boiler cool down (or run a little water through it to cool it down). Hot water is dispensed through the dedicated nozzle.

Maintenance

• Weekly: clean surfaces with a damp microfiber cloth; thorough cleaning of the steam wand and portafilter after each use.
• Filters and portafilter: clean by soaking in a suitable detergent solution (the 3-way solenoid valve also allows backflushing with a blind filter).
